DAoC: Gameplay – /stick /follow and /face

A Dark Age of Camelot series of guides which cover the topics in the Lesson Quests that were added in DAoC Patch 1.110. In this article we cover the usage of the /stick, /follow and /face commands.

The UI

The /stick /follow and /face commands are used to help you move around and face directions.

These commands are available as buttons on the UI, buttons on the quickbar or can be typed directly into the chat.

The commands bar can be displayed by pressing the ; key, or by going to the Attributes window and pressing the Command‘button.

You can shift + left-click on these buttons to create a icon you can place on your hot bar.

Additionally the new Floating Target window displays these buttons that you can click, but cannot create icons to put on your quickbar.

To display the Floating Target window you can select it from the Interface Elements window after pressing Escape.

The Commands

 /stick

The /stick command will attach your character to a targeted monster or player. /stick is a very useful feature if you wish to remain within melee range of an evasive enemy, or used simply to run in stride with a realm mate.

This command can be bound to a key on your keyboard or used in a quickbar macro.

  • Close to melee range
  • Used during combat
  • Used to follow a leader when moving as a group

 /follow

Typing /follow while you have a player or monster targeted will cause your character to follow at a slight distance. This is useful for following a group member but maintaining enough room to split apart if there is a chance to be engaged.

This command can be bound to a key on your keyboard or used in a quickbar macro.

  • Follow at a distance
  • Used to follow a leader when moving as a group

 /face

Typing /face while you have a player or monster targeted will cause your character to instantly face that target directly. This is useful for keeping enemies in sight while casting spells and finding the direction of your target.

This command can be bound to a key on your keyboard or used in a quickbar macro.

  • Turn to face a target
  • Continue to turn to face a target if they move
  • Used to find the direction of a target
