Academic vs Product

There is no doubt I can create a product which would sell and make money, I’ve been doing so for years.

A product isn’t enough for an academic price of work, there needs to be real research into the area so that you become seen as the expert.

The final artefact should be the implementation / proof of concept of the research / problem you have been investigating.

My project title needs to shift from “an x y z system” to “the development of an x y z system” or “an investigation into x y z”.

Working on my final year project at uni is more difficult than I thought, I am having to change from a developer selling a product to a researcher proving a point.
