Warhammer Online: New Developer Discussions

Keaven has opened up two new developer discussions for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning on the BioWare Social Network.

The two new topics are:

  • Patch 1.4.6: City Invasion issues
  • Patch 1.4.7: Career Balance – General Discussion

Patch 1.4.6: City Invasion Issues

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/230/index/12544645

  • No 60 character support on the scenario party UI
  • Stage III can get very crowded with 120 players
  • Amount of City PQ Bag rewards
  • 20v60 not 60v60

A solution to the above he suggests, is lowering the limit of players in the city siege to 36v36.

For me this suggestion shouts of reversal to the pre patch state. Mostly because the consequences were not considered before the change was introduced, and was not thoroughly tested enough. Which is very worrying.

I agree that with too many players it can get very zergy, but the numbers are almost returned to pre-patch. This doesn’t make the siege feel epic enough.

Patch 1.4.7: Career Balance – General Discussion

1.4.7 will be aimed around career balance, the proposal put forward for discussion is the following:

  • Careers will be balanced on a mirror-by-mirror basis
  • Changes will be pushed to the PTS as the mirrors are completed
  • Process will start with Tanks and Healers
  • Ranged and Melee DPS careers will take longer, as they are not perfect mirrors.
  • During the week archtype specific threads will be started.

I’m all for the career balance, but even so I wouldn’t have put it so high on the priorities list. I would have preferred the campaign revamp.
